Until two hours ago, Toshiba’s website said this netbook was upgradeable to 2GB memory. I bought the netbook and an advancement anamnesis bore (exactly applicable their specs). The apparatus would not plan with that memory.
Ok. These things happen.
Amazon actual abundantly beatific me a new anamnesis module. This aswell didn’t work.
I spent hours on the phone, with Toshiba’s “technical” support. Serial liars all. Their awkward obfuscation was above all belief. I ambition I had a transcript, because I can’t charm the beck of annular logic, abstruse ignorance, scripted aureate phrases, and alone calls. (I aswell batten with the admirable association at Crucial. They accomplish the bore and spent a lot of time with me aggravating to analyze the problem.)
While Toshiba was active abstinent there WAS a botheration I watched — on the fly — Toshiba’s website change: it no best affiliated to recommended anamnesis advancement modules. But no one, from Level 1 to Level 2 (Level 3 was mysteriously cloistral and bare for absolute contact) to Chump Abutment aback to Level 1 could anytime for a moment accept there was a botheration added than the absurd accompaniment that BOTH modules beatific to me were flawed.
And (I had endemic the apparatus for 1 day!) if I capital them to attending at the netbook I had to address and assure it to Kentucky, at my expense, for their comfortable look. They wouldn’t awning me beneath assurance demography it locally into a Toshiba-authorized adjustment shop.
The continued adventure short, if I saw their own web website brace and change, I saw Toshiba’s new official story: they wouldn’t abutment a anamnesis upgrade. I still accept a downloaded blueprint PDF, which absolutely does. But they’ve afflicted their tune online.
Amazon has been agitating throughout this mess. But Toshiba: what an abominable accumulated culture. What an abominable warranty. What a calendar of humans acrimonious up the phone.
A company’s artefact is no bigger than their chump service. I rank Toshiba as the worst.
